GT-805 from Javachem is a dispersion of 50% ultra-high molecular weight, organic siloxane polymer and nylon six. Because of its particle form, it is easy to add in the production process since the siloxane polymer has dispersion properties.
The product is added at a rate of .5-2% by weight in the finished formulation, whether in the compound, added in the injection molding machine, or in the extrusion process.
GT-805 Benefits
It can increase the line speed, reduce torque and extrusion, and decrease the coefficient of friction on the surface of the final product. It's also used to aid in reduction of large part warping and deformation. It's a good mold release and allows faster cycle times in injection molding operations.
The silicone in GT-805 is anchored into the polymer matrix and doesn't continue to exude. So, if you are using nylon and you need an additive to give you better mold release cycle times or decrease warpage, this is the product to use.
