Phlamoon 1090A from SULICHEM is an organophosphate flame retardant made of a proprietary blend of melamine polyphosphate and piperazine. Because of how it is processed, this flame retardant contains very low moisture and is more stable than other melamine polyphosphates and ammonium polyphosphates. It's stable at processing temperatures up to 270 C and can be used in polyolefins to achieve UL 94 V-0 ratings at much lower loadings than other non-halogen FRs. It can achieve V-0 rating at a loading of about 22% versus 30 and higher for similar phosphate-based flame retardants.
It's an intumescent flame retardant which creates char when burned, which extinguishes the flames and prevents dripping. It's the leading technology for appliances and other large polyolefins parts. So if you're trying to increase the flame retardant of your polyolefins and reduce the dripping in the UL 94 V-0 test, this is the product to use.
