The film sticks to itself on the take-up rolls. This creates an issue in downstream processing. No matter how many layers the film is, it is the outer layer sticking to itself (only need to solve for one material.)
By adding a small amount of GT-300 to the pellet feed of just the outer layer material, it reduces CoF and creates a 'non-stick' surface.
Additive is only on the outer layer and does not affect FDA approval on the inner layer of packaging film.
GT-300 does not bloom to the surface.
Film does not become cloudy/hazy.
Film 'releases' from itself and improves downstream processing.
Other Advantages of GT-300
Better/ easier flow to fill tools completely
Low fill pressure
Faster cycle times
More consistent parts
Easier/ better par ejection
Decreased flow lines
Decreased weld lines

As many of you know, the National Plastics Exposition, the largest show in our industry, takes place every three years. As a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the show has been canceled. In lieu of the show, we wanted to take to our blog to showcase the products that we would have featured at the show!
